Energy Systems Modeling Lab

The Energy Systems Modeling lab in the Department of Hydro and Renewable Energy, IIT Roorkee, aims to provide transdisciplinary skill sets to our graduates and equip them a deep understanding of engineering, economic, environmental, and policy issues that pertain to the design and operation of energy systems. This approach enables them to develop models and solutions that are applicable to real-world energy systems. Modeling and analysis of energy systems provides an integrative perspective that links energy system engineering with broader environmental and economic considerations.  Some of the state-of-the-art software tools that are offered in the lab include -

  •          AspenOne for academics

  •          GaBi Academy LCA software

  •          SimaPro LCA software

  •          Global Change Analysis Model  (GCAM)
